The Cinema Party @Dua Miami

Updated: Jan 24

SCND2LIV co-hosted a Cinema Party with Alexander Padei, Hudson Hatters and Ryan Bauta.

"The Cinema," hosted by Musicratic, was a night filled with the classic nostalgia of the "Roaring Twenties," enhanced by Miami's flare of nightlife elusively coupled with tropical aesthetic flamboyance. There were three distinctive acts scheduled for the evening that defined the musical and environmental programming with intention and ease. SCND2LIV, provided event promotion, talent sourcing, celebrity endorsement, and for the media of the night.

The night unfolded like a film—Old Hollywood elegance layered with modern global sound and unmistakable Miami energy.

Guests arrived to cinematic projections, filmed DJ sets, and curated visuals that set the tone from the moment doors opened. Act I, Soul & Elegance, began with intentional connection among the Miami Nouveau community—founders, creatives, and tastemakers gathered for quality conversation in an intimate, refined atmosphere. Live vocals by Alexander Padei and Maya Azucena, supported by the Ryan Bauta Trio, created a warm, soulful opening that felt timeless yet contemporary.

As the evening transitioned into Acts II and III, the room shifted seamlessly into celebration. From 10:30 PM onward, the night evolved into a high-energy fusion of DJ and live performance, led by Alexander Padei alongside Maya Azucena, instrumentalists, and surprise guests. The experience peaked with a closing set by NBA player (DJ J.Rich), carrying the crowd late into the night.

Fashion, film, and atmosphere remained central throughout, complemented by an intimate ŌLFATIC EXPERIENCE woven into the evening. Guests were invited into a sensory vignette featuring rare, niche fragrances crafted from exceptional ingredients sourced across Africa—an exploration of scent as memory, culture, and identity. There were also special celebrity appearances like: Trinidad James and Miss Uruguay Universo 2026.

From the first note to the final set, the night moved with intention—cinematic, immersive, and unmistakably alive.

What was formerly SLS Brickell has morphed into the new Dua Miami. For fans of SLS Brickell’s rooftop pool space, vibey lounge, and the restaurant by chef Victor Rosado, you’ll find comfort in the hotel’s contemporary furnishings.

In October 2023, one of the largest business conglomerates in Albania, the Kastrati Group, purchased the property from JLL Hotels & Hospitality. It's Kastrati's first U.S. venture, and the hotel’s new name, "Dua," means "to want" or "to love" in Albanian.

Leslie Weil, Dua Miami’s general manager, tells New Times that the property opened in late March under its new name and new Albanian owners. The name translates to “love and desire” in Albanian. “It’s all about coming and indulging in a different way,” Weil says. “Every stay is a curated experience to what our guests want.”

The property is also now part of the Marriott Bonvoy family, which, Weil says, has been a major driver of business. It’s part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, a global collection of 300 independent hotels, each “a product of passion, inspired by a clear vision, soul, and story that makes it individual and special,” according to the press release for Dua Miami.

A color and cabana refresh on the three-pool rooftop deck are among the most visible changes to the 124-room property thus far. Poolside activities will include sound bath meditations, weekend DJ sessions, and Saturday puppy yoga. For locals, day passes are available on ResortPass starting at $30.

The property has also added seating to its lobby area and a new restaurant in the space formerly occupied by Fi’lia, Ahu Mar, a wood-fired seafood concept by Chef Victor Rosado. Whereas its lounge area was primarily a dim and sultry area for ticketed DJ sessions, it’s now open to the public Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. with large-format cocktails.
